Computers

The Belgian organisation Close the Gap gives written-off computer material a new life in the South and wishes in this manner to contribute to closing the digital gap between the West and developing countries.

The organisation collects computers from European companies that are in the process of replacing their computers. The computers are examined in a professional manner, repaired if necessary, and made ready for reuse. The computers are then made available to social projects in the South. Training courses are also provided as well as support from the local computer users and managers.

Thanks to an agreement with BRS, microfinancing organisations can also request computers from Close the Gap.

In 2005, KBC donated 6,000 computers to Close the Gap. In the following film you will follow these computers from KBC to the microfinancing organisation in Africa.
